My Vision for Ward 6
Listening. Connecting. Building a Stronger Community Together.
Ward 6 is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.
As our community continues to grow, I believe residents deserve practical solutions, open communication, and strong representation at City Hall.
Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more connected Ward 6
Common-Sense Traffic & School Zone Improvements
Traffic safety measures should improve safety while remaining practical for residents.
I will work with residents and city staff to review school zones, traffic controls, parking restrictions, and no-parking areas to ensure they effectively address safety concerns without creating unnecessary congestion or inconvenience.
Local residents know their neighbourhoods best, and their experiences should help guide future decisions.
School Transportation & Safer School Access
I believe families deserve practical transportation options that make daily life easier and safer.
In recent years, reductions in school bus service have increased traffic congestion around local schools and created additional challenges for parents. I will advocate with local school boards to review transportation changes and explore opportunities to restore or improve service where it is needed most.
By improving access to school transportation, we can reduce traffic congestion, improve safety around schools, and make daily life easier for families.
Supporting Local Businesses
Local businesses play an important role in creating jobs, strengthening neighbourhoods, and building a vibrant community.
I will work with local business owners to understand their challenges and identify practical solutions that support growth and success.
This includes:
Strengthening communication between local businesses and residents.
Encouraging community events that support local commerce.
Promoting "shop local" initiatives.
Identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary barriers for small businesses.
Supporting business growth that creates local employment opportunities.
When local businesses succeed, our entire community benefits.
Better Transit
As our community continues to grow, I believe residents need reliable transportation options that help them get to work, school, and essential services.
I will work with the City of Barrie to review transit routes and service frequency along major roads in Ward 6. Improving public transit can reduce traffic congestion, provide more transportation choices for residents, and help support a growing community.
Open Communication & Community Engagement
I believe residents deserve a councillor who listens, responds, and remains accessible.
I am committed to maintaining open communication with Ward 6 residents, seeking community input on important decisions, and ensuring local voices are heard at City Hall.
Good leadership begins with listening.
